Rachel, Monica, Joey, and Chandler listen in on Emily yelling at Ross during the reception. Ross comes out of the room saying he's going to give Emily some time to calm down. Emily escapes out of the bathroom window and Emily's father alerts Ross that Emily has gone into hiding and never wants to see her estranged husband ever again. Ross tells Emily's parents to tell her that he will be at the airport waiting to go on their honeymoon and that she is still welcome to meet him there. Ross waits for Emily for a long time and he runs into Rachel. He offers to let her come on the honeymoon with him. Rachel agrees and gets on the plane just as Emily arrives. Emily is furious once again and runs away with Ross chasing after her, leading to Rachel going to Greece alone. Ross continually tries to get in contact with Emily but it is hopeless. Emily finally calls Ross to ask him to leave her family alone. Ross convinces Emily to come to New York and be with him on the condition that he never sees or speaks to Rachel ever again. Emily also forces Ross to get a new apartment and all new furniture that is just theirs. Emily calls Ross and realizes Rachel is there and is furious. Ross tells Emily that in order to make their marriage work, she needs to learn to trust him. Emily says she cannot do that and they end up getting divorced. Several months later, Ross learns that Emily is getting remarried and he becomes depressed. Emily calls Ross the day before her wedding saying that she is having second thoughts and wants him to call her back and maybe reconcile. Rachel and Monica hear the message and accidentally delete it. Rachel tells Ross but convinces him not to call her back since she doesn't want him to have to go through with all that again. Ross and Elizabeth Elizabeth is Ross' main love interest throughout season six and his first major love interest since his third divorce. Ross meets Elizabeth at NYU where Ross is her professor. With the semester over and Elizabeth no longer in his class, Elizabeth confesses that she had a crush on him and they begin a secret relationship since it is against the rules for professors to date students. Elizabeth's father disapproves of the relationship and dates Rachel. Elizabeth's father threatens to report Ross to the school board and have him fired. Elizabeth and Ross continue to date despite of what her father threatens to do. Rachel, Monica, Phoebe, Joey, and Chandler make fun of Ross dating a girl who is so much younger than him. Ross starts to take their jokes seriously and thinks about Elizabeth's maturity. Ross goes over to Elizabeth's apartment to talk to her when he finds her and her girlfriends having a water balloon fight with some guys across the hall. Ross sees how immature Elizabeth is and he breaks up with her. She apparently takes it well until he goes outside and Elizabeth throws a water balloon at him in retaliation to him dumping her. Ross and Mona Mona is Ross' girlfriend for a large part of season eight. Ross and Mona meet at Monica and Chandler's wedding. Ross attempts to dance with Mona several times but all the little girls want to dance with him first. A large girl called Gert insists on dancing on Ross' feet and he is in too much pain to dance with Mona, so she and have to help him to his hotel room and they begin to flirt. However, Mona is unimpressed by Joey's embarrassingly small feet and walks away. Mona and Ross later meet again at Central Perk and start to date. Their evening is ruined when Rachel's father storms into Ross' apartment, furious with him for getting Rachel pregnant and not marrying her. Ross works everything out and tells Mona the whole story and what is going on. Mona and Ross continue to date. Ross seems to keep forgetting plans made with Mona which becomes a gag in one episode when he always comes to Rachel's side. Mona and Ross decide to take their relationship further by having a Christmas card of them sent out but Ross says they are not at that stage in their relationship yet. When Mona asks Ross what stage they are at, Ross panics and gives Mona a key to his apartment instead. Mona goes to visit her parents for a week and Ross and Rachel decide to move in together so they can raise their baby together, but not as a couple. When Mona returns, she breaks up with Ross due to the situation being too complicated. Mona and Ross meet again in the following episode when Mona reveals that she still has feelings for Ross but they cannot be together because of the situation with Rachel and their unborn child. Ross and Charlie When Ross is assigned by work to show new professors around town, he meets the beautiful, smart Charlie. He invites her to Joey's roof party, and after being discouraged from making a move on her by her extensive list of extremely intelligent ex-boyfriends, Rachel and Phoebe stir him to give it a shot. However she makes out with Joey before he gets a chance. Later on, during a trip to Barbados, Joey and Charlie agree to have a friendly break-up due to having nothing in common. Seizing his chance, Ross kisses Charlie and Joey complied, knowing full well that they are perfect for each other. They later break up, when Ross was being harassed by one of Charlie ex-boyfriends who was still in love with her. Charlie later realizes she loves him as well and her relationship with Ross ends.
